How to Parse the NTSC-32 COM3000 Transcoder

This guide walks you through programming your Datatronix DT-NTSC modulator system. Follow each step in order and reference the screenshots provided to ensure proper configuration.

Note the NTSC 32s differ from most transcoders, the NTSC's require parsing in order to work.

Video on the bottom of the article.

Step 1: Connect to the Unit

Plug an ethernet cable from your laptop/PC into the port on the front of the unit labeled “NMS.”

Access the GUI by navigating to IP address: 192.168.0.136

This is the first screen you’ll see when connected.

Click on IP input

Step 2: Verify Streams & Parse

Your input screen should show the full list of streams. (this should be pre-programmed by the distributor)

Bitrates will show if the COM3000 side is active.

Click “Parse All” to detect all audio/video streams — this may take 4–5 minutes.

You will know the passing is completed once the green bar on the bottom no longer shows.

Step 3: Channel Mapping

After parsing, click the “+” icon next to each stream and check the service box.

Use the arrow icon to map each stream into the output box (right side).

• and followed the same process with each channel, navigating between channels by clicking the "CH 01" "CH 02" etc.

Step 4: Save Changes

Warning
Step 4 is extremely crucial if this is not completed properly you may have to redo the entire process.

Step 5: Verify Output Using the Decoder Tab

Once each stream has been assigned an RF channel, you can verify that content is properly outputting.

Navigate to the Decoder tab. A green circle next to a channel indicates that video is active and broadcasting. A black circle means no content is currently assigned or being broadcasted.

Alternatively, you can verify the output the old-fashioned way: scan a TV to confirm the channels appear. (which you should probably do anyway 😊)

Disable Closed Captioning (Optional)

If closed captioning is not needed, you’ll need to disable it individually per channel.

On the right-hand side, locate the blue hyperlink (stream info). When you hover over it, it will turn red.

Click that link to access detailed stream settings and disable closed captioning as needed.
